Ashley See Takes Part in Mercyhurst University Art Therapy Project Using Skype

2012 May 2

Ashley See of Erie, PA, is among students in Professor Robert Tavani's Methods and Materials in Art Therapy class at Mercyhurst University partnering with the Pathway Clubhouse, a community mental health center in Columbus, Ohio.

See is a junior majoring in Interior Design.

The students are connecting via Skype with members of the Art Group at Pathway, and will assemble art therapy assessments and directives to send to them. The class will also create a survey about the impact of the Clubhouse Model on its members. The Clubhouse Model provides members with training for employment, socialization with others with similar diagnoses, normalization, a positive atmosphere, therapeutic groups and ultimately integration into society at large.
