Christopher Gaertner joins Mercyhurst theatre production of 'Urinetown'

2013 Oct 17

Christopher Gaertner of Cleveland, OH, is a member of the cast of Urinetown: The Musical, a production of The Mercyhurst University Theatre Program, which kicks off its second season with the uproariously funny show Oct. 24-27 at the university's Taylor Little Theatre.

Gaertner is a junior at Mercyhurst.

The student production is set in a futuristic world where a catastrophic drought has led to a ban on private restrooms. Citizens must pay the nefarious Urine Good Company to use its public facilities, and those who can't - or won't - pay for "The Privilege to Pee" are sent to a mysterious place known only as Urinetown. Finally, a hero emerges to lead the poor in an uprising against their oppressors.
