Jeffrey Thiede Takes Honors at Mercyhurst Student Art Show

Jeffrey Thiede of Farmington Hills, MI, was among nine Mercyhurst University art students to receive special awards during the opening reception for the annual Juried Student Art Show, held Feb. 24-March 4 in the university's Cummings Art Gallery.

Thiede, a junior majoring in Graphic Design, entered a piece titled "Drag Queen and Chair," an archived inkjet print. In all, more than 40 student artists were represented in this year's exhibit, which included ceramics, sculpture, photography, painting and drawing.
